Yannick Bolasie had a few stutters when he moved from Everton to Anderlecht on loan in the winter market.
Some had expected too much immediately, and Bolasie spoke publicly about a need to settle in, no matter what the standard of football is.
Things quickly improved and the 29 year old now has three goals in six league appearances for the Belgian club. He wasn’t able to add to that against KV Kortrijk on Sunday but still put in a good display.
HLN say there was a ‘lot of threat’ from the Everton owned player, and he hit the bar in the first half with a great long range shot.
All of this is making the footballer happy, and he’s repeatedly keen to speak about his positive situation.
He’s also taking inspiration from his close friend Romelu Lukaku: “I am enjoying myself more and more playing here. This week, Lukaku was once again an inspiration for me. Those two goals against PSG, after having received so much criticism, that is great.”
Bolasie finds himself back in the Congo squad for the next international break, and he believes his January switch has had a big impact on that: “We are playing against Liberia, a fiercely charged match, just like this one against Cameroon, and I am glad to be back again.”
He added the call-up was “Thanks to Anderlecht”.
