Out of action for Everton since the start of the season with an ankle injury, Yerry Mina seems to be getting some special help to regain his fitness.

As reported by Colombian outlet Caracol TV, the defender is having the assistance of orthopaedic therapist Carlos Palomeque, who travelled from South America to work with the Toffees’ defender.

The doctor has been sharing on social media some videos of Mina’s recovery process, with the Everton player having ‘stretching and strengthening exercises’ recently.

In one of the publications shared at the weekend, Palomeque wrote: “We give what we have best and know how to do it. If it’s in your mind you can make it real. ‘Panita’ Yerry Mina.”

Caracol TV recalls that this isn’t the first time Mina gets help from Colombia to recover from an injury. They point out he’d already been authorised by Everton to have an appointment with Deportivo Cali doctor Gustavo Portela as well.

The 28-year-old was injured in the first match of the season against Chelsea. Even though there seems to be real progress in the recovery, there’s still no date set for his return with the Toffees.

The story also points out the rumours from the English media which say Mina should soon be leaving the Goodison Park, with his injury issues being the main reason for an exit.
