Everton’s Gerard Deulofeu has been linked with a move to AC Milan over the past few days.
The 22-year-old hasn’t made an appearance in Everton’s last five league matches, despite the busy Christmas period, and there have been rumours of a departure.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Deulofeu has been considering a departure in the January transfer window, and the option of going to AC Milan is ‘exciting’ for the Spaniard.
However, MD point out changing clubs too often at such a young age could slow his development. Deulofeu was very highly rated as a youngster and has so far failed to live up to that, another change could set things back further.
Reports in the Italian media, however, suggest Everton don’t want to send Deulofeu on loan, and have rejected the possibility.
AC Milan are reportedly very keen on signing the former Barcelona star, and could try again to convince the Merseyside club.
Deulofeu has a contract running until 2018 at Everton, and hasn’t registered a single goal or assist this season.
Ultimately the decision will rest with Ronald Koeman.
