When Sandro Ramirez signed for Sevilla on loan in January, he arrived full of confidence and talking like a man who thought he’d never have to step foot in Merseyside again.
England hadn’t suited him, he hadn’t adapted and didn’t seem keen to, he was back home in Spanish football and told Sevilla that as he’s a goalscorer… the goals would be on the way.
That didn’t happen and Sandro didn’t trouble the goal once.
All summer the former Barcelona player has been linked with La Liga clubs, but usually as second, third or fourth choice on the transfer list.
Sandro has had to wait until the end of the window and has picked up a good loan to Real Sociedad, with the Spanish club having no buying option over the player.
Diario Vasco quote the Everton player as saying: “I’m happy because I’m facing a new challenge and I’m eager to meet my new teammates and the coach. Here in La Liga is where I have better performed and now I have a new opportunity, a new challenge, and I am really looking forward to it. I see a very strong team, very involved and very committed to everything.”
On what he can do for La Real, Sandro added: I am a player that has always been characterised for scoring goals. I cannot promise to score them here but I will offer work, humility and I will give everything for Real Sociedad.”
Everton will hope Sandro can find his goalscoring form, to help them get a transfer fee either in January or next summer. The Toffees will be watching Real Sociedad with added interest.
