Over the past few days, a number of articles have appeared here and there in the English media claiming Paris Saint-Germain were interested in Everton’s Richarlison.
After all, why wouldn’t they be? The Brazilian has performed well under Marco Silva this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting twice in 35 Premier League appearances.
Le10 Sport on Wednesday go out of their way to confirm this interest on their website, explaining PSG are looking at the Everton forward as they prepare for the exit of Julian Draxler as well as potentially Angel Di Maria’s.
Paris Saint-Germain are said to have enquired about the amounts the Toffees would want for their star, and the answer they allegedly got was €75m.
That’s why, for now, the Ligue 1 champions have yet to make a move for Richarlison, as they believe the demands are too great, and would start at a ‘far lower price’ were they to open negotiations down the line.
Considering how important the Brazil international is to Silva’s plans and the competition he would face in France, this might not be the best move for the 22-year-old, and we’d be surprised if it went any further than this.
He has everything going for him at Goodison Park, and, judging by how highly his Portuguese manager rates him, should stick around as long as the former Hull City and Watford tactician does.
