On July 23rd, Sport reported Everton offered €10m for Lucas Digne, which is €6m short of Barcelona’s valuation of the player.
The same publication now claims the Merseyside club’s officials have travelled to Spain with the aim of ‘closing the signing’ of the full-back ‘as soon as possible’.
Marco Silva’s side have already submitted a formal offer for the player, which was turned down by the Spanish champions because the bid was considered too low.
The Portuguese boss has already discussed the possibility of signing the Frenchman, while admitting it will not be easy to land the player. After completing the signing of Richarlison from Watford, the report claims the English club will ‘try to specify’ the arrival of the defender.
Digne is aware that he will not be included in Ernesto Valverde’s plans for next season. The 25-year-old is keen on joining Silva’s side this summer and according to Sport, that is only possible if Everton agree to pay €16m to Barcelona.
