Everton’s chase for the Porto forward Moussa Marega was made more than a normal rumour when Aziz Ben Aissa confirmed contact for his client.
With the player’s agent confirming the contacts, the local press has been expecting the Toffees to go for the 27-year-old next summer.
Now Everton have been present at Porto’s away game against Benfica this weekend, and their scouting intentions were made pretty clear by newspaper O Jogo.
The outlet writes the emissaries have travelled to Lisbon especially to watch the striker, who was pretty important in the Dragons’ 1-0 away win.
Even though Marega had been out for almost two months due to an injury, he’s shown some great physique for the 90 minutes, once again proving that the Premier League would suit him well.
With 20 goals so far, Marega is Porto’s top scorer in the campaign which is currently giving them the title. It means it won’t be very easy for Everton to get him on a bargain, and the €40m release clause is very likely to be his tag price.
