Everton will have to move quickly to complete the signing of Yerry Mina from Barcelona, with the transfer window for Premier League clubs shutting on Thursday.
This puts them at a disadvantage to Lyon who don’t have the same time pressure. Lyon only have to beat Everton in the race, according to several claims, whereas the Toffees have to beat Lyon and the clock.
Catalan newspaper Sport had claimed agreement on a €32m transfer, which would see Mina sign a four year contract with Everton. Monday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe insists that Lyon remain in the battle.
Now Foot Mercato, also in France, claims Everton’s offer for Mina is actually €25m and not the €32m reported by Sport.
Should the English club get a sign that Mina has chosen another club, such as Lyon, or that they can’t rush the deal through, then Foot Mercato reports Marco Silva’s men will turn their attention to Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
