Monday’s edition of De Telegraaf reports PSV are trying hard to reach an agreement with Trent Sainsbury, but aren’t quite there yet and face competition from QPR.

Sainsbury did reasonably well for Australia at the World Cup and that led to many rumours about his future.

Like most others who were expected to find a big transfer off the back of the tournament, it hasn’t happened for Sainsbury yet and he’s still trying to find a new club.

The Dutch newspaper say Saisnbury’s contract with Chinese club Jiangsu Suning has been dissolved and he’s free to choose a new destination, leaving PSV and QPR to battle over wages.

As was made clear during the Russia tournament, Jiangsu Suning wages are very high and Sainsbury expects the same elsewhere.

PSV coach Mark van Bommel is a friend of the 26 year old, report De Telegraaf, and now the Dutch club are in a rush to try and beat Championship club QPR to an agreement.
