Towards the end of February, France Football reported the news that Everton had made a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s youngster Maxen Kapo.
The Toffees were claimed to have offered the 18-year-old a contract, which would have been his first professional one, to move to Goodison Park, hoping to join the likes of Juventus and Manchester City in snapping up talent from the Ligue 1 champions for peanuts.
However, that wasn’t to be, as Kapo put pen to paper to stay at his current side around five days ago, preferring stability to adventure for the time being.
According to the same magazine this week, the reason behind Paris Saint-Germain tying down the defensive midfielder for the next three years was Thiago Motta.
The former player, who is the club’s U19 manager these days, is said to have ‘insisted’ on keeping the 18-year-old around, not wanting to lose him to the two other clubs circling: Everton and Borussia Mönchengladbach.
