Earlier today, we already covered the reports from Gazzetta Dello Sport which gave some details on AC Milan’s chase for the Everton midfielder Gerard Deulofeu.
But the Rossoneri aren’t the only Serie A side who are keen on signing the former Barcelona player. Roma are reportedly in the race too, and according to the same newspaper, have held talks with Everton for the transfer.
Roma director Messe Massara has been in London to talk with many clubs, with the Toffees being one of them. The official initially only wanted to know the conditions to sign the Spaniard.
What Everton said is they wanted €2m for a loan until the end of the season, plus a permanent transfer for some other amount in the summer.
Massara would now be working on dropping these conditions as the talks go on. What they should know is that Milan seem to be placing better bets on this one.
Ronald Koeman has made it clear he doesn’t feel Everton can release Deulofeu given the lack of other options, so unless the Merseyside club plan to bring someone in, these talks would be pointless.
