Arnaut Danjuma is ‘on track’ to leave Everton in the coming weeks and already has an agreement in place with Lyon for a move.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say Everton, Villarreal and Lyon are on course to work out an agreement to send him to France.
The Dutch forward has been on loan with Everton since the summer but has barely featured under Sean Dyche, who prefers Dwight McNeill and Jack Harrison on either flank.
Danjuma has therefore had to content himself with minutes off the bench or appearances in the cups, something it appears he is not happy about as he eyes a late push to be in the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.
Thus, reports this month have indicated that he could be set to break his loan agreement with Everton and instead head to France, where Lyon are ready to take him.
L’Equipe cover that today and say that the French side have already ‘agreed terms’ with Danjuma about a move as he is keen to ‘get back on track’.
He would arrive on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season but for that to happen he first has to break his current loan at Everton, ‘which seems to be on track’. In other words, the Toffees and their Spanish counterparts are close to reaching an agreement on that front.
What that would be isn’t made clear and will presumably involve some sort of fee given Everton paid for the initial loan deal in the summer, but it seems talks are underway regardless and Danjuma is expected to move to France at some point this month.
