Besiktas are yet to make an ‘official attempt’ for Everton striker Cenk Tosun regarding a potential return to Turkey this summer.
That’s according to FotoMac, who say Tosun is ‘waiting’ for an offer to arrive from his former club.
The Turkish striker is out of contract at Everton in the summer, and both parties are set to go their separate ways after a relationship that has not worked out for either.
A return to Turkey is most likely, and Besiktas have always left the door open for him but a report yesterday stated they have pulled back on making their move amid concerns about his fitness after he picked up an injury in January.
FotoMac follow that up today and stat that while Tosun is among the ‘candidates’ being considered by Besiktas, there has been no official attempt to sign him when he leaves Everton.
The most important issue for Tosun at this moment in time is the annual salary he would pick up at his former club, which is likely to be considerably lower than what he picks up at Goodison Park.
He’s now set to meet Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi at the end of the season to discuss ‘all conditions’ and see if there is a possibility of him going home.
