Everton midfielder Andre Gomes was at the American Hospital of Paris in Neuilly today to undergo a medical ahead of a move to Lille.
That’s according to journalist Marc Mechenoua, who reports the Portuguese midfielder could be the ‘surprise’ at the end of the window for the French side.
Reports in England have made it clear that Gomes is free to leave Goodison Park before the end of the transfer window this evening, with Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell making it clear he is not a part of their plans.
He had initially looked likely to stay but that has quickly changed on deadline day as reports in France have linked him with a move to Lille.
They’ve made it clear that talks are underway with Everton and Mechenoua backs that up, stating that midfielder was at the American Hospital of Paris in Neuilly today alongside fellow deadline day signing Adam Ounas to undergo a medical.
That would suggest a deal with Everton is close to being completed if the two clubs find the magical agreement and Gomes will be joining the list of departures from Goodison this summer.
Comme révélé par @lequipe, André Gomes pourrait être la surprise de la fin de mercato au Losc. Le milieu défensif était avec Adam Ounas à l’hôpital américain de Neuilly pour effectuer sa visite médicale. #mercato @GoalFrance
