Everton have been continuing their efforts to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, with the latest coming ‘this morning’.
That’s according to journalist Marc Mechenoua, who reports that the Toffees made a bid of €12m plus bonuses, which was rejected by Ajax.
The Dutch side are not interested in a sale after a summer of major departures from the club and players going on strike to seal moves elsewhere.
They’ve now put their foot down about possible exits, particularly after the Dutch transfer window closed last night.
It’s left Kudus frustrated, with reports making it clear he wants the move to Everton, even going as far as to refuse to train yesterday to force it through.
Mechenoua now reports Everton made another effort for the midfielder ‘this morning’ but were ‘turned down’ by Ajax despite an offer of €12m plus bonuses.
According to his information, Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder, has ‘asked the player to stay’ at the Amsterdam ArenA this season.
Whether his words are enough to convince Kudus, or if Everton will continue to push, remains to be seen, but it seems their latest effort was rejected, nonetheless.
#mercato @GoalFrance
