Everton remain keen on Galatasaray defender Christian Luyindama, who has ‘seduced’ manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The Blues are keen on adding a central defender to their squad this summer with that position having been a problem one for some time.
They have been linked to centre backs across Europe, namely Lille’s Gabriel Magalhães and Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Luyindama is among the names to have been linked, with reports in the Turkish media they had identified him for a €15m transfer.
Africa Top Sports confirm that is the case today, reporting that the player has won over Ancelotti and he would like to ‘recruit him at all costs’.
The Italian wants to improve Everton’s defence and ‘would only have eyes for Luyindama’ in that regard.
Everton could make their move for him in the coming days but will have to offer at least €15m to convince Galatasaray to sell.
They report that the 26-year-old ‘has everything to succeed’ in the Premier League, with Aston Villa and West Ham also eyeing him up as a potential signing.
The player, for his part, is simply focused on returning from a cruciate ligament rupture he suffered in November and his stance on a potential move isn’t mentioned.
Whether Everton’s interest is as genuine as this report claims it is remains to be seen. They are certainly on the hunt for a defender so it is a deal that would make sense.
However, it’s far more likely that they have Luyindama on their list should they miss out on other targets, namely Todibo and Magalhães.
