Everton have joined a host of other clubs in the race for Ajdin Hasic as his contract situation at Dinamo Zagreb seems to be in a mess.
According to Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, an error while extending the winger’s contract has resulted in the player being a free agent.
For the same reason, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and the Merseyside club ‘have looked at the him’.
There’s a bizarre reason why the 17-year-old, who was part of the Croatian side’s youth system became a free agent overnight.
An earlier report from the same Croatian outlet explains that Dinamo had prepared two contracts for the teenager, one to extend his contract and the other one to terminate it.
It’s not sure why they prepared the latter, but it’s mentioned that it happened due to an error from the sporting leaders at the club.
Hasic is a minor and therefore, his father has to sign the contract in order for Dinamo to tie down the player to a new deal.
Since the winger’s father is in Bosnia, they sent contract to see, and instead of the extension one it was the termination… and he signed it.
The wideman’s representative, Ismet Dizdarevic, was later informed that his client’s contract was terminated.
“What happened to Hasic? I do not know, ask people in Dinamo. The contract has obviously been terminated, and whoever has terminated it, I really have no idea, nobody has officially informed me about it,” Dizdarević said.
If Hasic is a free agent, Everton will have to step up their efforts and submit a tempting proposal, in terms of an economic deal and the sporting project, if they have to beat other clubs to his signature.
