Everton are interested in Standard Liege forward Ishak Belfodil, according to claims in the Italian media. With Oumar Niasse looking likely to leave Everton in this transfer window Ronald Koeman could be looking to strengthen in attack during January.
TMW have today ‘revealed’ Everton have been monitoring Belfodil, and could look to move in on the Algeria international. The 24-year-old has been in impressive form for Standard Liege this season after joining the Belgian side in the last summer transfer window.
Since signing for the Jupiler side the Algerian has scored nine goals in just over twenty appearances. With Niasse being frozen out by Koeman in this campaign Belfodil is an option open to the Dutchman.
However, TMW’s exclusive isn’t very exclusive. Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad claimed the same a couple of days ago, also saying West Brom are interested.
Belfodil started his career in France with Lyon before getting his big move to Inter Milan in 2013 after a spell with Parma. The player also had a loan spell with Livorno before returning for a second stint at Parma.
The forward has been capped thirteen times by Algeria since making his debut in 2013.
