Everton have once again been linked with Thorgan Hazard.
The Toffees have been involved in many rumours relating to Belgian international over recent years, one of a number of clubs continually linked.
Perhaps Everton have the distinction of being the Premier League club linked the most, but that would certainly be a close battle given all the claims.
AS Roma are currently said to be interested in the Borussia Monchengladbach player, and that gives interest for the Italian media. Calciomercato say Everton ‘like’ Hazard, with the suggestion they could provide competition to the Serie A club.
Hazard has been with Gladbach since 2015 and, interestingly, he hasn’t signed a new contract since then. The current deal runs out in June 2020, and if there’s no renewal before the next summer window, then pressure builds around a transfer.
With eight goals and five assists in twelve Bundesliga games so far this season, interest is understandable, and Gladbach will surely be pushing for a new deal.
If and when it gets to the stage of Hazard having less than a year on his contract, the danger of a free, or reduced price, transfer rises quickly.
