Everton are yet to make an offer for Real Betis striker Raúl García de Haro or test the situation with the Spanish club, despite an interest in him.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who do confirm, however, that the Toffees are ‘known to be following’ the player.
Reports this week have put Everton in the mix for García, with it first reported that they were convinced he could be a good signing and that followed up by an explanation that Jorge Mendes has been put on the case to find suitors.
Estadio now follow that up and say that García is ‘the man in fashion’ in Spanish football, which means he could be ‘one of the protagonists’ of the summer market.
He has ‘caught the attention’ of the Premier League where Everton are one of the sides known to be following him and his performances.
They’ve been made aware that Betis are willing to sell for €10m this summer, a good price for a player who has 19 goals and seven assists so far this season.
However, they are yet to make a ‘formal offer’ for the 22-year-old, nor have they ‘even tested’ the situation with Betis at this moment in time.
That suggest they are not as convinced on the striker as has been suggested, although with Mendes on the case, perhaps that will change once they know what division they’ll be playing in next season.
