According to regional website Karadeniz Gazetesi, an Everton scout was in attendance last weekend to watch Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir in action against Sivasspor.
The 23 year old Turkey international, who has been impressing for the Super Lig club since the start of last season, had a great game against Sivasspor in the top of the table clash at Medical Park Stadium.
With Jordan Pickford coming in for scrutiny at the moment for his performances, Cakir could be a possibility for Everton in the summer.
In addition to Everton, Karadeniz Gazetesi report Tottenham Hotspur and an unnamed La Liga side were following the game. Tottenham have been linked with the player in recent weeks following reports they made an offer last month.
Cakir has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent weeks with Liverpool and Leicester City also said to be interested.
It’s currently unknown how much Trabzonspor will want for their academy graduate, but the club’s president Ahmet Agaoglu said last month they rejected a €20m offer for him.
Cakir’s contract with Trabzonspor will run until June 2024.
