Everton signed Andre Gomes from Barcelona on loan last summer and the Portuguese midfielder has impressed so far for the Toffees.
Marco Silva has publicly expressed his desire to retain his compatriot, but that seems difficult, if a report from El Gol Digital are to be believed.
It’s claimed the 25-year-old will be allowed to return to Camp Nou because the Merseyside club are ‘interested’ in obtaining services of Giovani Lo Celso.
The Argentine joined Real Betis on a loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain before the start of the season and his temporary deal was made permanent in January.
His performance has been excellent for the La Liga side this season, which is why the Premier League club have decided not to invest on signing Gomes and instead shift their focus on the South American.
At least according to El Gol.
The report explains ‘such is the interest from Everton’ that they have already prepared their first offer of around €45m for the former PSG man.
El Gol Digital also explains Tottenham have shown ‘willingness’ to sign the player and with Everton and Spurs’ interest, it could be difficult for Betis to retain Lo Celso beyond this campaign.
