With Yerry Mina completely unable to remain fit at Everton, the idea the club could move on from the Colombian remains active, meaning a replacement would be needed.

The Toffees had a player in mind over the summer, and that was Udinese’s Rodrigo Becão, who is currently one of the star men at the club.

The Brazilian has been key to the Serie A side’s good form this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist, as well as an imposing presence in their defence, in the nine games he has played in.

He has missed the last couple of games due to an injury, but that hasn’t stopped Udinese from trying to renew their man, knowing full well clubs like Everton are lurking.

Gazzetta dello Sport have an article on the matter on Tuesday, and explain that ‘the admirers have increased in Italy and abroad’.

They then add ‘Everton’s courtship had been the most insistent’ during the summer, and there’s little chance that Frank Lampard’s side will have gone away.

At 26 years of age and clearly in great form, with a contract ending in 2024, this could be the ideal time to make the move to the Premier League, where Everton would clearly welcome him with open arms.
