It seems there are more Portuguese outlets who are very confident that Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes is on his way to Everton this summer.
This morning, we’ve covered the front page story from A Bola which said there’s an agreement ‘practically closed’ between all parts, as the Toffees are expected to pay €18m at first plus €2m in bonuses.
It turns out that newspaper Jornal de Notícias says something similar, even though they don’t highlight the story as much as A Bola does.
The outlet now claims Nunes to Everton is ‘close to happening’ after the Toffees submitted an offer of €18m plus €2m.
Their information is indeed very similar to A Bola’s, as Jornal de Notícias also claims that the player is set to earn three times more at the Goodison Park.
The newspaper points out that Newcastle United had also been interested in the player, but it’s really Everton who are close to an agreement for his move.
Other outlets such as O Jogo and Record don’t have much to say about the case today.
The latter only mentions the deal in a story which is actually about Manuel Ugarte. When speaking of Sporting’s chances of signing the Famalicão midfielder, they point out that Nunes is ‘likely’ to move to Everton.
