Merih Demiral has definitively decided to leave Juventus this summer, boosting Everton’s hopes of getting a deal over the line.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it and specifically Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, who says the Italian giants will be forced to ask for a high price due to clauses in the deal that brought him to the club.
The website explains that Juventus’ market is ‘at a standstill’ at this moment in time as the club are waiting for Cristiano Ronaldo to decide his future and see how the negotiation for Manuel Locatelli progresses.
Either way, the Serie A side need to make sales, and there is a list of players they will move on, including Demiral, who has made it clear he wants to leave.
That same report indicated that Everton are at the front of the queue, with it well established that they are big admirers of the centre-back.
Now Sabuncuoglu has backed up at least one part of that report, although he does not mention Everton and instead suggests Manchester City could be a suitor.
“Demiral will certainly leave, and there is a clause. Watch out for Manchester City,” Calciomercato.it report him saying.
“Sale certain, Demiral will leave 100%. The 30-35% of the amount collected, however, will go to Sassuolo, as agreed by Paratici when the defender arrived at Juventus.
“I would also pay attention to Gabriel Jesus, also in terms of Demiral.
“I know that when Paratici was still there, Manchester City had talks that lasted more than a month for the Turkish defender.”
