Everton are one of the clubs eyeing a move for Rennes full-back Adrien Truffert after a strong season in Ligue 1.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the Toffees are one of several sides monitoring the 20-year-old’s performances.
Truffert was recently questioned about a potential transfer this summer, admitting he was aware that there was interest from Ajax and Everton.
He insisted that he would not be discussing his future until later in the summer, but L’Equipe now follow up those comments with a report on those who are keen.
They say this year may be a ‘turning point’ for the youngster as he represented by the ‘powerful’ Stellar Agency, who have plenty of contacts and can make a transfer happen if he wants it.
While the player is ‘in his element’ at Rennes, he wants to sort out his future, and plans with the club are planned.
He wants to know what the ‘hierarchy’ at the club will be and if he will be given the chance of ‘developing himself fully’.
If not, he will look for a move, and there is ‘no shortage of interest’.
He ‘dreams’ of the Premier League, and there is interest from him there, too, with Everton one of the sides who have ‘followed’ him in recent months.
Whether they’ve made an enquiry about him isn’t mentioned, but we’ll assume not as it’s made clear his other suitors have done so with his club.
Nonetheless, the interest is there, and if those talks with Rennes don’t go how the full-back would like, perhaps we’ll hear more about a potential move to Goodison Park.
