On Saturday we covered Portuguese claims Everton are interested in Sporting midfielder William Carvalho.
The Portugal international in recent seasons has been linked with a move to the Premier League, and Everton are reportedly the latest English club taking an interest in the player.
However, reports from Le10 Sport suggest Everton may face competition to sign Carvalho from AS Monaco and PSG.
In a particular it was Monaco who have been strongly linked with the 25 year old, after their attempts to land the central midfielder in the last window. The French side’s offer was turned down by Sporting Lisbon.
We covered reports from Portugal that Everton are keen on Carvalho, but they won’t want to make the same mistakes West Ham United made when they tried to sign the Sporting Lisbon star in the summer.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is a long term admirer of Carvalho, and wanted to sign him when he managed Southampton, but he didn’t have the funds.
It also suggested Koeman knows where the player will fit into his system, if he’s to bring him to Goodison Park.
