Over the last two months or so we’ve brought you various reports that Everton were keen on Lyon’s Bertrand Traore this summer.
Everton are on the hunt for a new wide man, preferably a left-winger and have identified several targets.
Traore was among them and, at the beginning of last month, we covered a story from L’Equipe on Everton’s interest in Memphis Depay, in which Traore was once again named as a target.
Little, read nothing, has been said about a possible move since then.
That is until now, anyway, with Telefoot now reporting that Everton and Lyon are ‘currently discussing’ a move for Bertrand Traore.
Beyond that, details are scarce.
The TV show doesn’t offer any insight into when those discussions started, how they’re progressing or even what sort of fee is being talked about.
Telefoot’s information is thin on the ground, to say the least, and the Liverpool Echo have already stated Traore is a player Everton aren’t interested in.
On the face of it, Traore is a target that makes sense. He can play all across the front three, has a good scoring record and experience in Europe to boot.
However, with Telefoot hardly offering any information and the Echo refuting it outright, this one may have to stay in the rumour column for now.
