Italian forward Manolo Gabbiadini was heavily linked with a move to Everton in the summer, but Napoli were reluctant to sell him.
The 25-year-old rarely played last season for Napoli due to the form of Gonzalo Higuain, and in this campaign he’s failed to make an impact despite being given chances.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, Napoli are ready to offload Gabbiadini in January.
It’s reiterated by Gazzetta that Everton made a €25m bid in the summer, whilst Bundesliga side Wolfsburg were also showing an interest in January, but Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis refused to let him leave.
Gazzetta say it’s unlikely any club would want to pay €25m for him now given his recent form, meaning Napoli would have to accept a much reduced fee.
It remains to be seen if Ronald Koeman’s Everton would jump at the opportunity to sign Gabbiadini at a cheaper price or move in on other targets.
Gabbiadini has scored just two goals in 14 appearances this season, and that’s not going to work in his favour.
