Clubs expected to spend significant money on signing players this summer have already been sending out messages talking the market down, due to Covid-19.
On the other hand, those clubs expected to sell players have been sending out messages making it clear they don’t intend to give out any discounts, regardless of the current situation.
That’s the case with Sassuolo, and Jeremie Boga. Il Messaggero report AS Roma are very keen on signing the attacker, but they face competition from Napoli, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton.
Chelsea have a €15m option to buy their former player back, and it’s thought Frank Lampard’s side could use that and then sell him on for a profit.
Boga has been linked with Everton a few times in recent weeks, but Carlo Ancelotti’s side are routinely linked to any conceivable target in Serie A. Brighton interest may be a long shot given the level of the other clubs said to be keen.
Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali is insistent they won’t let the player go for a low price, and is quoted as saying: “His price and that of others will not fall, we are an expensive shop and we do not give anyone away.”
Carnevali will have no choice if Chelsea turn up with the €15m.
