Idrissa Gana Gueye to Paris Saint Germain is a transfer that appears to be nearing completion after weeks of speculation.
Earlier today we covered a report from Le Parisien that suggested the two clubs were close to an agreement over the Senegal international.
It’s believed a €32m bid was made on Saturday and Everton met to discuss it yesterday, with Gueye expected in Paris at the end of this week for his medical and to sign his contract with the Ligue 1 club.
We doubted if a deal would happen at that price, especially given earlier reports that they wanted at least €40m for Gueye this summer.
RMC journalist Loïc Tanzi has covered the situation today and says that even though the negotiations are going well, Everton will still block Gueye’s departure.
That’s because they want to source a replacement before he departs, which makes sense given Gueye’s status in this current Everton squad.

In terms of the financials, Tanzi says the two parties are ‘very close’ and PSG are optimistic, which suggests that talk of Everton accepting the €32m may have been a little premature like we suggested.
Still, this is clearly a deal that’s on the way to being completed, although apparently not until Everton find their replacement first.
