Everton are set to meet with midfielder Bernard’s agent ‘in the next few hours’ to discuss a move away from the club this month.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say Roma remain keen on reuniting him with manager Paulo Fonseca.
The Italian side have been keen on the Brazilian since the summer when they made a late bid to sign him at the end of the transfer window.
Their interest has not gone away since and, alongside several comments from his agent, there have been numerous suggestions they will return with a bid this month.
That is yet to happen, but reports in Italy have indicated that Roma are eyeing up a move for either the Everton man or Stephan El Shaarawy.
Corriere back that up today and state that his agent is set for a meeting with the Toffees today to discuss his player’s future.
They report that Fonseca is keen for a reunion with Bernard after working with him at Shakhtar Donetsk, and Everton are open to a sale.
They want at least €10m if the Brazilian is to go, but Robin Olsen could become a part of the deal as manager Carlo Ancelotti would like to keep him permanently after he’s impressed on loan.
The suggestion is that the goalkeeper could bring that price down, although that’s not stated explicitly.
Either way, Bernard appears to be moving towards the exit door, with his agent set for talks that look likely to get the ball rolling.
