Nottingham Forest loanee Omar Richards has come in for praise in the Portuguese media following his performance for Rio Ave at the weekend.
The 26-year-old signed for the Liga Portugal side on a season long loan during the summer window, a transfer helped by Evangelos Marinakis’ stake in Rio Ave.
O Jogo have reported on the game between Rio Ave and Estoril at the weekend, in which the Nottingham Forest owned defender was one of the standout players. The 2-2 draw was Richards’ third start since joining the Portuguese club and he provided an assist to earn his side a point.
The Portuguese media outlet have also highlighted the performance of Marios Vrousai, who has been loaned out to Rio Ave from Marinakis’ Olympiacos.
Richards signed for Nottingham Forest from Bayern Munich in 2022 but has yet to make an appearances for the Premier League side. Last season he was loaned out to Olympiacos where he played 14 games for the Greek giants.
He’s contracted to Forest until June 2026, but his future at the City ground looks uncertain.
