Diogo Dalot had a steady season on loan at AC Milan. The Manchester United owned player wasn’t a revelation for the Rossoneri, but he did become a good squad option, able to play on the right or left side of defence.
That’s seen suggestions that Milan could look to take him again, either trying to arrange another loan or going for a full permanent transfer. A lot will depend on how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees the player’s future, however, it’s unlikely Dalot will be content with a very minimal role at Old Trafford next season.
Dalot is currently away with Portugal’s U21 side at their age-level European Championship. The 22-year-old faces Spain on Thursday in the competition’s semi-finals, and it’s only after the tournament has ended for him that the player will think about his transfer future.
Quoted by Record, Dalot replied to being asked if he’ll be at Manchester United for the coming campaign: “I’m completely focused on tomorrow’s game and my future can wait until after the Europeans.”
Again hinting that he’s enjoyed getting regular football, the fullback judged his time in Italy well: “It was a positive season for me, it’s been a very positive experience. I played a lot of games, played a lot of minutes, that’s what I was looking for.”
