There are claims in the Turkish media Fenerbahce are showing an interest in Wolves attacker Helder Costa. The player joined Wolves from Benfica last summer, and has impressed in his debut season in England.

Fenerbahce are looking to bolster their attacking options in the summer window, and Costa is a player on their shortlist. Due to FFP and again failing to make the Champions League, the Turkish giants are looking to loan players in the summer, and they are hoping they can lease the Wolves star for a season.

It’s been reported Fenerbahce are targeting players from outside the Premier League, and along with Costa they’ve also been linked with Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia. Like with Costa, the Turkish club want to sign the Aston Villa star on a loan deal for the season.

Wolves spent heavily in the last summer transfer window, with super-agent Jorge Mendes helping to bring in players from Portugal, including Costa from Benifca. The youngster was initially brought in on loan, but after his early season displays the deal was made permanent by the Championship side.

Loaning Costa to Fenerbahce would be nonsensical and the Turkish media’s optimism borders on delusion.
