There are ‘compelling reasons’ why the La Liga winners are ahead of United and other suitors in the race for Haaland’s services.

Mino Raiola represents the frontman and even though he doesn’t share a good relationship with Florentino Pérez, the super-agent’s relationship with Real Madrid director José Ángel Sánchez is ‘very fluid’.

The European giants also have an ally Martin Ødegaard, who is ‘best friends’ with the Dortmund star. It’s claimed the two are ‘inseparable’ when they are with the national team.

Another factor is the admiration Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke ‘professes’ for Pérez, whose company, ACS Group, has invested in Germany.

AS also states the German side have become Real Madrid’s ‘ally in its troubles with UEFA, and that fluid relationship has been evident in the latest transfers of Achraf and Reinier to the Borussian entity’.

Therefore, Dortmund will make it easier for Real Madrid than any other club when it comes to Haaland’s sale, but that doesn’t mean they will offer any concession to the 13-time European champions.

Dragging Manchester United seems an effort to add drama.
