Erling Haaland is set to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and make a move to Manchester City.
The 21-year-old signed for the Bundesliga side in the January 2020 window, so hasn’t exactly been with BVB over a long period. He and his agents also made sure there was a reasonably priced exit clause in the contract, allowing him to move for cheaper than otherwise, and in the process guaranteeing better conditions for himself.
However, such was Haaland’s impact at Dortmund he was given a huge farewell from the club, like a long-term legend. The feeling goes both ways and Bild bring a nice story about what Haaland has left at the German side as he gets ready for his Manchester City adventure.
The German newspaper explain the striker has left farewell gifts worth a total of around €500k.
Each of his 33 teammates were given a Rolex Submariner watch, worth €13-15k. A further 20 BVB employees, such as ‘physios, cooks, doctors, supervisors’, were give an Omega watch, worth €5-7k.
Bild also state: ‘Incidentally, the luxury goods were delivered by two limousines from Holland. Including a personal try-on service for every employee and player.
‘The watches were also packed in a special box that was adorned with three photos: one with his shirt number 9, one with Haaland in a jubilant pose and one with the DFB Cup in his hands. Also printed: EBH (for Erling Braut Haaland) from 2020 to 2022.’
