Back in January, we covered claims from the Argentina media that Arsenal are one of the clubs in the picture for Boca Juniors’ Ezequiel Fernández.

Arsenal didn’t make an attempt to sign the midfielder in the winter market, and are reportedly now looking at him for this summer’s window.

That’s according to Argentine journalist Diego Monroig, and he told this to ESPN, relayed by Bolavip.

The journalist claims Fernández’s entourage have ‘received information’ that the Gunners want to secure his services in this window.

Although the north London club are interested in the 22-year-old, they haven’t tabled an official bid so far.

The Argentina U23 international is also of interest to Al-Qadsiah, and they have already made an attempt to sign him. The Saudi club have tabled a $17m [£13.2,] offer, but it wasn’t accepted by Boca Juniors.

If Arsenal are keen to buy the player, they will have to make an offer higher than what Al-Qadsiah proposed to the South American club.

Earlier this year, Fernández signed a new deal until December 2028, and that puts Boca Juniors in a strong position to demand a fee of more than £13.2m.
