Dembele will be best served by concentrating on the Rangers victory, and his performance in it, rather than dwelling on the big loss. That certainly sounds like what he plans to do, and Dembele was happy to speak to French newspaper L’Equipe about beating Rangers, and how important it was to play well against Celtic’s Ibrox enemy.

The 20 year old explained: “To register my first hat-trick in a pro game with a lot at stake, with that context, it was a real satisfaction.

“The atmosphere at Celtic Park is always hot… But then, when I score, it’s as if there was electricity in the air. This is an amazing time to live.

“From the first minute I signed in this club, I was told it would be a special moment against the Rangers with a lot of pressure. When you walk on the pitch, you wake up and you say to yourself: ‘ouaaah, today, I have to do well’

Dembele did do well, and his performance against Rangers made him an immediate Celtic favourite.
