Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier has been linked with a move to Turkey, where the transfer window is open until Friday.
On Monday, Fotomaç reported Beşiktaş will hold talks with the 33-year-old as they’re in the market for a new right-back.
Fanatik claims the Black Eagles are working to bolster this position with the Newcastle player.
Eddie Howe has favoured Tino Livramento ahead of the Englishman for the right-back slot this season. Despite this, the report claims the manager doesn’t want to let Tripper leave because the Magpies can’t bring in a replacement.
Beşiktaş aren’t going to be deterred by Howe’s stance. They have no plans to give up on the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
Trippier has two years left on his deal. Fanatik claim Newcastle are open to parting ways with him if there’s a tempting offer. There’s no mention of the Tyneside club’s request, but the report says he’s valued at €10m.
Howe wants to retain Tripper, while Newcastle sporting director Paul Mitchell’s stance isn’t made clear.
