Manchester United are said to be in the mix to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić.
On April 26th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain are ‘in pole position’ to sign the 27-year-old in the summer
Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday explain the player’s agent, Mateja Kezman, has been in Italy and attended Lazio’s latest league defeat against AC Milan. He also ‘talked a lot’ with his client and had ‘contacts’ with Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The report further explains the Serbia international’s representatives ‘will listen to offers’ from top clubs, ‘first of all’ from Manchester United.
It’s said ‘by May, the fate of the Sergeant will be known’ as Kezman will listen to offers and then present it to Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito, who is hoping for an auction. The Serie A side’s transfer business ‘depends’ on the star leaving the club in the next window.
Meanwhile, Alfredo Pedullà explains the former Genk man’s agent is ‘already working to find a solution’ for his client. The report states Manchester United, who wanted Milinković-Savić in the past, ‘intend to try again’ for his signature in the next window.
The Premier League side are aware that Lotito is asking for more than €70m to part ways with his prized asset. Lazio are also hoping there could be an auction for the player.
Alfredo Pedullà, however, claims a fee of €70m ‘could be enough’ for Manchester United to sign Milinković-Savić.
The English club are set to part ways with Paul Pogba. He has been a ‘fan of PSG’, while the Ligue 1 side ‘greatly appreciates’ the Serbian. If Pogba were to end up at PSG, it could give United an easy run to sign Milinković-Savić.
The website end their report by stating: ‘United starting again in pursuit of the Sergeant in the hope this time of being able to burn the competition.’
