Italy’s TuttoMercatoWeb claim an exclusive on Wednesday, saying Burnley have a €6m offer for Andrea Ranocchia.
That offer has either already been made or is set to be made today at a meeting of intermediaries involved in the potential transfer.
Ranocchia has been linked with a Premier League transfer for around two years, and moved to Hull City on loan during the January transfer window.
The Italian defender showed enough in the Premier League, and in his ability to play in English football, that it’s a surprise he still hasn’t been snapped up.
Burnley are one of the Premier League sides to be linked the most often with Ranocchia, and in Italy the Burnley connection has been repeatedly pushed over the past couple of weeks.
TMW’s claims would be a continuation of that, although, in typical TMW style, everything is taken a step further.
Inter Milan may be looking for more than €6m for the 29 year old defender, but with just over a week of the window left, Burnley’s offer, if it’s genuine, will be more attractive now than it would have been earlier this summer.
