Barcelona’s Francisco Trincão struggled in his debut season in Spain as the winger has been restricted to only eight starts in all competitions, out of which four of them came in the Champions League.
AS on Wednesday analyses the 21-year-old’s situation at the Camp Nou and they then mention reports of Manchester United making an offer for him last summer.
The La Liga side agreed a deal with Braga for his transfer in January 2020 and the player was set to move on July 1st of that year.
AS points out claims of an offer of around €60m made by the Red Devils, even before the Portugal international played his first match for the Catalan club.
The wideman has struggled to get regular minutes this season and this could force Ronald Koeman’s side to consider allowing him go out on loan in the next market.
AS mentioning Manchester United in their latest Trincão report is likely to get picked up by widely, but in reality, they seem to be making an assumption the offer came from Old Trafford.
Online, AS have also shared the same information and within the report, they have provided a link to their earlier report from August 2020, which details the €60m offer made by the Premier League side last summer.
The report from last August cites Sport as the source and doesn’t name Manchester United.
We also took a look at Sport’s original report and even the Catalan newspaper didn’t mention United or details of any other English club that submitted the said proposal.
