Adrien Silva was almost a Leicester City player last summer. The Sporting midfielder thought he was joining the Premier League champions, and spoke out publicly about the transfer.
The deal then collapsed, with Sporting ultimately asking for more than Leicester were prepared to part with, and the club captain was quickly reintegrated into the club, with fans accepting him back well.
Jornal de Noticias say, as they’ve previously reported, both Liverpool and Juventus have been watching the Sporting player during the current campaign.
Sporting have Adrien on a contract until June 2020, with a further year option, which means Liverpool would likely have to pay the 28 year old’s €45m clause, or close to it.
That could be asking too much from Jurgen Klopp’s club, as it was for Leicester City, but Sporting may have to bring their demands down if they struggle to make sales at the beginning of the window.
