It’s been a while since the rumours started linking Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen with a move to the Premier League.
The reports have now returned and according II Secalo XIX in Italy as relayed by Sampnews24.com, it’s claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are ‘very interested’ in the defender.
Serie A outfit’s director Antonio Romei traveled to London to see if there are any foreign investors who are ready to takeover Sampdoria.
During his trip to London, Romei and intermediary Paolo Busardò met Tottenham leaders in the English capital to find an ‘agreement in principle’ on the price for the 22-year-old.
The Denmark international’s asking price is €25m and the fee quoted is something that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have no trouble paying, especially after not investing in the last two windows.
Sampdoria will now have to inform other suitors Juventus and Inter Milan about Tottenham’s willingness to meet the figure for Andersen and find out if the other two Italian clubs are ready to match it or submit a higher offer for him.
If the Turin club and the Nerazzurri don’t decide to meet what Spurs are ready to pay, then Andersen will have to make a decision whether to make the jump to Mauricio Pochettino’s side or not.
The €25m figure is less than has been reported previously and seems reasonable.
