Danilo is everywhere in Italy at the moment.
The Manchester City defender is thought to be wanted by Inter Milan and the reports have been growing, with several in Italy on Saturday.
Gazzetta dello Sport, as they often do, have taken a wider look at the situation and who Inter could be going for.
The club loaned Cedric Soares from Southampton in the winter market, but it was very quickly claimed in Italy, even the week he arrived, that he’d be sent back in the summer. Both the Portuguese fullback and Southampton appeared to have been led to believe there was a far greater chance of a permanent deal than had been the case.
Another option for Inter is Matteo Darmian, and that track still feels the likeliest.
Gazzetta say there’s worry over Danilo’s wages, they wouldn’t want to match Manchester City’s level. Then there’s the transfer fee, which is estimated at €20-25m, and that feels optimistic.
Danilo, 27 years of age, has a contract until June 2022. He’s flexible in position, experienced, and would be a good squad player for many top teams.
With it being thought Darmian could be signed for €10m, with United asking for €12m, that looks more attractive.
