In the summer window, a couple of reports from Brazil said São Paulo rejected a €20m bid from Manchester City for Antony.
Things have been pretty quiet since then, as it seemed that the Brazilian club would be working hard to keep the 19-year-old.
Now a report from Yahoo Brasil claims there’s a German club going after the winger, this time offering €18m.
Since people close to him told Yahoo he’s been approached by Bayern Munich, there’s a chance they could be the bidders. But Globo Esporte claims that Borussia Dortmund have sent scouts to watch him.
And what’s interesting in all this is that São Paulo could end up accepting the offer after all. Because according to Yahoo, they’re in need of money, and due to a clause in his contract, Antony gets 15% of his rights after new year.
So the sooner the club sell him, the more they can get.
Yahoo recalls the €20m bid from Manchester City in the summer, even though they don’t say anything about a new attempt from Pep Guardiola’s side.
But perhaps taking a look at this situation would convince the Premier League club to make a new attempt. Because even the same bid would look better now.
