While Il Tempo on Thursday claimed that Bastos was considered ‘unsellable’ by both Simone Inzaghi and Igli Tare, both Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta dello Sport see it differently on Friday.

There’s a price tag in the former’s report, as they claim the defender is valued at around €5.5m by the Serie A side, suggesting a bid of that amount would be enough to acquire his services.

That, for a club like Watford, is pretty much pocket change, and it’s hardly the insurmountable hurdle that Il Tempo were trying to place in front of the Angola international 24 hours prior.

The possibility of a transfer is echoed by Gazzetta, who state that talks are continuing regarding the possibility of the centre-back ending the summer at Vicarage Road to start a new adventure in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old has been at the club for three years now, arriving in 2016 from Rostov in Russia, yet never quite managed to make himself an indisputable starter over that period.

Last season was a good reflection of that, as Bastos only made 18 Serie A appearances, although he was key in the club’s impressive run in the Coppa Italia, which Lazio went on to win by beating Atalanta 2-0 in the final.
