Everton midfielder James Rodriguez does not have an agreement with AC Milan, despite reports to the contrary.
That’s according to journalist Andrea Longoni, who has denied the claims that the Colombian is closing in on a move to Italy.
Rodriguez has been heavily linked with a move away from Everton this summer after the surprise departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
His replacement Rafa Benitez has not helped to fix that, with it believed the Colombian does not want to work under his former Real Madrid boss again at Goodison Park.
Indeed, reports in Colombia and Spain had suggested that a €10m deal was already in place, with Rodriguez set to earn €6m a year.
Longoni, though, says that is far from being the case, and the Everton man is only a potential option for Milan at this point.
“We don’t know anything about it, he has been proposed by his manager, Jorge Mendes, but the priority is Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech,” he told Top Calcio 24 on Antenna 3, relayed by Calciomercato.it
“I repeat, we don’t know of any agreement or closed negotiations. The Colombian is a fragile player; he had several calf problems last year.
“The price is affordable, around 10/15 million with one year left on his contract, but he earns 8 million. And, above all, he is often out injured.”
