With Coventry City star Viktor Gyökeres this week speaking to the Swedish media about the chances of a summer transfer, that made big noise in the Portuguese press.
Since Sporting are heavily interested in signing the centre-forward this summer, all Lisbon newspaper have stories with his quotes today.
And as outlet O Jogo features their piece on the Conventry City player, they dismiss some gossip which recently showed up.
It’s pointed out that rumours said an agreement between the clubs would already have been closed. That for was a €13m move, plus €3m in performance goals, with the Championship side keeping 10% of a future transfer.
O Jogo, however, claim the story ‘doesn’t make any sense’, as Sporting don’t currently stand that close to signing Gyökeres from Coventry City.
The Lions continue to struggle to afford the transfer, and have big difficulty in beating Premier League sides in the race, since the likes of Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers have been heavily linked to the player lately.
What sounds certain is that Coventry City will be able to make a decent profit with his sale this summer.
